Know what to do from the start
How to File Claims with VUMI
One of VUMI's best features is their ease of filing claims, whether it’s through your member portal, or via email. The way to file a claim is the same if it was for a precertified event, or a regular old check up with your GP.
Filing Through Your Dashboard
You will need to gather and scan the documents from this list and save them as either JPEG, PNG or PDF files. Log in to your VUMI dashboard. (You received an introductory email with the login information when you purchased the policy; contact our offices if you need help,) and navigate to the My Claims section.
You will then click on the red Submit a Claim button.
Fill out the pop-up window and upload your documents there. This is also where you will add your reimbursement method (we recommend ACH for fast, free deposits) and upload up to five files of your claims at a time. They can be any file type, but they do have to be 3 MBs or less. There is no claims form to fill out.
Filing Via Email
Again you will need to gather and scan all the documents from “The List”. Once all together, you will send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com with the documents as an attachment. In the subject line, put your first and last name, and policy number. In the body of the email please state what medical event the claims are being filed for; basic check-up, dermatological prevention, basic cold, etc.
VUMI will send you a confirmation email that the claim has been received. If they need additional information (which could include additional test results, clarification from a doctor, etc.), they’ll communicate either with you direclty via email, or through your broker. As always, Expat Insurance is more than happy to answer your claims questions or assist you in collecting documents.
